Media studies in my life~

I believe that media is extremely important in my life. Without media in my life I wouldn’t know what’s going on in the world. I also wouldn’t have very much entertainment. Without all the TV shows, ads, commercials and music I would be bored and very unaware of what our world is going through. Although I’m across the world I know what’s going on in Haiti and although I can’t do anything to change what has happened there, knowing about it makes me value where I live and makes me aware of what I can do to help, if there is anything.

Music, TV shows and movies are the most important too me. Music has got me through some tough times. TV shows entertain me and sometimes let me know what is happening in the world. Lastly movies help me pass time when I'm bored and they are very entertaining. My favourite types of movies are romantic and comedy. As for TV shows I love shows like Jersey Shore and Hannah Montana. Music my favourite types are country and rap.

I think that our world is coming up with some very useless stuff. They are trying way to hard to make everything so easy and what not. Yeah, I get that things should be easy and cool but they are getting to the point of being pathetic. Like for instance there's a new car out that talks and you can go on facebook. All you have to do is say "Facebook" and it will read your stuff to you. When you're out in your car, you should be concentrating on driving not worrying about what someone wrote on your wall or who poked you. As for me, I use media to find out what is happening all around me and to keep in connect with people. I also use it to find out what new things have come out and songs.

I believe teenagers are only shown as trashy, alcoholics. Also the media makes it out like we don't care about anyone but ourselves and that almost all of us are pregnant. This may be true about some people but not about a lot of us. Of course some teenagers are pregnant and some are alcoholics, along with some trashy but that doesn't mean most of us are. No matter what generation it is there is always going to be some teenagers pregnant, some trashy and some alcohlics or druggys but why do they hold it against our generation so much ? We're no different. For example, they now have a show just for pregnant teens called "16 and pregnant." On that show all they show are the bad times, they never show how good the parents are or what they do good for the baby. I get that they want to scare kids out of having babies when they're only teenagers but why do they have to make those parents seem so crappy ? It's truly not fair to them. Another example is Jersey Shore, on this show all they show is the cast partying, drinking and enjoying life. For some people that seems like the perfect life but for others it makes them hate our generation. They're normal young adults, they like to party and enjoy life. Why make it seem so wrong that they are happy with their life ? Hannah Montana is another show that makes our generation look messed up. This show is about a girl wanting to be famous but lying about who she is. She dresses up completely different to be able to live two lives. Yes, that is smart but it's also greedy. If you want to be a singer then you have to deal with the fame that comes with it. No one should have the right to have a secret life. It makes our generation look right messed up. Within the media and all these shows people are going to think of our generation as the worst one yet, and it's not fair to us. We are all put in one group and labelled bad even if we're nothing like the person right next to us.
